About us
On the nutrient-rich soils in the Elbe glacial valley, pome, stone, and berry fruits have been growing for over 650 years, with apples being the main product. 300 fruit farmers from the region manage more than 5,000 Ha of cultivated area.
They deliver their products to the Elbe-Obst for storage, sorting, packaging and marketing to customers. Since 1989, there is controlled integrated cultivation. Some years later we start with organic production on partial areas. The main objective of the cultivation process is the production of uncontaminated fruit for the consumer and the protection of the environment and nature.
To sort the size, coloring, and quality of the fruit, photo-optical sorting is used. To test the inner quality, light is shone through the apple, where storage damage and flesh browning can be detected. In our packing house we use packing lines such as Blitzmatic, Foodtainer, laying goods, baskets, cartons, as well as bags and knotted bags. In the process an automated production control system is used.
